The Lizard Poem

Two lizards danced on the eve of the night that I knew I had come there to love you.
Parted by screen, they circled unseen,
on the eve of the night that I knew I had come there to love you.
Curling their tails, they danced between veils,
on the eve of the night that I knew I had come there to love you.
Kept out of sight, I watched them alight,
on the eve of the night that I knew I had come there to love you.
And when they had done, two lizards were one,
on the eve of the night that I knew I had come there to love you.
